For Value Received on a _________________________ Promis{sic} to pay unto Burger J Huyck & Samuel Van Slyck or order Administrators of the late Estate of the Late Aron Huyck Deceased the Sum of _______________________ New York Currency on or Befor the Seventh day of April Next after that date if Not paid, on Interest till Paid as witness hand & seal this ______ Day of January 1796

Commentary
This document appears to be torn from the bottom of a sheet with multiple receipt forms similar to the 16 in BH048 ~ 1796-01-06 Promissory Note, 16 Blank Promissory Notes to Pay the Administrators of Aron Huyck's Estate and the 4 in BH028 ~ 1796-01-06 Promissory Note, 4 Blank Promissory Notes to Pay the Administrators of Aron Huyck's Estate. The reverse may be a tally of what various people owe the estate of Arent Huyck. Some tallies appear to have initials by the totals.
